As you will be aware, the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Education has announced that at the end of today, Friday 20th March 2020, all schools will close except for the children of key workers and pupils deemed vulnerable.
We do not know how long this closure will be for, but the assumption is that it is likely to be for some time.
From Monday 23rd March 2020, the school will be open for pupils of key workers (please see the link for further guidance) and some of our vulnerable children.
While we await further guidance from the department for Education, all other children must stay at home.
Every child has been given work books in order for their learning to continue at home. The website has many excellent links to free websites too. This will be updated routinely.
There will be no SATS tests this year. I know our year 2 and 6 staff and children are really disappointed at this news because they have all worked so tremendously hard. I am so proud of each and every one of them.
Over the coming weeks, we will be making contact with some families. This is purely to offer support if required.
During the school closure, staff will be working so please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns. These are challenging times but we are committed to your child’s education and safety and will offer support when needed.
For medical support, contact the NHS via 111
If you have a safeguarding concern about another family, contact Birmingham Children’s Safeguarding Board via: www.birminghamchildrenstrust.co.uk or call 0121 303 1888
We will continue to update you on what is happening. Please follow us on Twitter or check the website.
Thank you for your continued support
